Day 196- Wednesday May 25, 2016

So today it came.  On Sunday Jen found the old Powershot G1.  I ordered batteries for it hours later. Amazon held to their promise of delivery in two days.  I received 3 batteries, and a charger to run the G1.

Lots of memories on this cam.  The first digital camera I ever bought.  It was suggested to me by my warehouse buddies.  Originally Circuit City sold it for almost 950 bucks. The employee discount brought it in at cost for me, which was pretty damn nice. I think I bought this 3.34 MP 'point and shoot' with other settings for $750.  I had to save for it, but we needed it to shoot our first born.  Days of working at Escambia SO, then working at C C in the warehouse to pay for it.  16 hour days.  I always appreciated Circuit City, the manager Beth anyways because she said one night--'you seem smart, why aren't you going to college?'  For some reason that night stuck with me, not long after, I re-enrolled at then PJC and knocked out classes left and right.  I started UWF in the summer of 2000.

Sometimes I wonder if I hadn't worked at Circuit City, whether I'd have pursued a degree at UWF as hard--I knew the $9.40/hr I was making at the S.O. wasn't paying hardly anything.  Boy those were different times. In 2004, I graduated with a 3.34 GPA in Management Information Systems from UWF.  So yeah, anyway, about the camera--it does have sentimental value as well as thousands of pics it took of family, settings and kiddos new and older over the years.

What was great was seeing the old pics on the CF 1gb card (that I think I paid $60 for in 1999).  So, I planned on taking it out again as my extra goto, or when taking the DSLR is just too much effort.
