Day 303 - Sunday Sept 11, 2016
Day 303
It's been 15 years since that dreadful attack. My daughter was 18 months old. I can still remember it like it was yesterday. It's still hard to talk about, these disasters that occur during our time--that was always stuff you read about your parents and ancestors going through. But this was real. This was horrifying. This happened on American soil. America is in a strange place right now-the cop haters, the ones that want to continue to bash our nation that live here, the ones who kneel for the National Anthem because they're sad they feel people aren't being treated fairly. The thing is--our world and our nation has changed dramatically since 1776, and when is America going to realize that? I fear that our nation is imploding-not to mention these two liars we have running for president. Do we have anyone capable of setting us straight? These are my fears on this disaster day, and I gotta say, it's taking a toll on my psyche, good feeling, good will, and anything else that deals with patriotism.
On a better note, photography takes me away from it all/lets me concentrate on the what am I going to photograph instead of current events plaguing our nation. I noticed Avery was swinging on in nice light in the backyard. I was busy reading my new book, about photography of course, so I asked Jen to test her talents with manual settings on the camera and the macro lens. She did pretty well. She's always had an eye for a great photo, now she just needs to get her exposure triangle down a little and she'll have it!
Here are a couple she took with the 100mm this afternoon.
