Day 56 - Tuesday January 5, 2016

I was able to work from home today as daughter had an appointment for her knees.  As soon as I got off work, I was able to hit the thrift store circuit-(now is the best time of year to find cool stuff because a LOT of folks like to get their year end tax write-offs, and since we live in somewhat of an affluent area, there is good stuff to be had.  Today's find was a nice case at the Waterfront Mission for a smaller auto 35mm Pentax IQZoom 140.  My price--$4.99--of course I'll round up to $5 even!  Included in the case were two rolls of Fuji 400 film also.

I got it home and checked the battery.  Worked. Excellent.  Took a couple of attempts to load the film (automatically) and started shooting (after reading the manual of course, as it came in the pack!)  The camera sounds weird after taking the picture, as if the photo isn't advancing--also, i noticed that the flash wasn't firing, even when I set it to on all the time, so that might be an issue.  Heck, I look at it like the film is worth $5 that I spent.  Maybe it's working ok as a throw around camera and can be a daytime type camera.  We'll know after I get done taking the final 13 pics.  More to come on that one.

The other roll of film I put in my daughter's Fuji 290 auto, since she likes to take pics with it.  Money well spent today if you ask me.

Not long after, and, since it was a beautiful day outside, I decided to hop on the Trek 2300 for a little bit longer solo trip.  My body is paying the price for so much laziness over the holidays, but the trip went well.  My achillies are starting to stretch out, along with about every other tendon and muscle from riding 4 days in a row, longer distances each time.  The cold air hurt my lungs on the ride, but the ride was the reason for today's pic.

I brought along the Polaroid because the day was fabulously sunny and the Land Camera 100 always takes great pics in the sunlight!  My 12 mile ride today had a half-way stopping point and a couple pics.  My first double exposure too.
