Day 160 - Tuesday April 19, 2016
Another long day at work today. Had to basically pull a double shift, from 0600 - 0900 b/c I had a Dr Appt about my heart, which seems to be beating a little out of rhythm. Go genetics! I talked with my good friend, who lucky for me is a nurse practioner that saves lives in this regard. Time to slow down the caffeine intake, and calming down the beer consumption. Hopefully this is just an inflammation in the sinus cavity that is causing me problems in other places other than my head, weird, right? But I trust her. Guess I'll be taking a stress test next week.
Today I changed out the tire on the road bike. I really wanted to get my heart beating tonight while hooked up to the Garmin step/heart monitor, so I rode quickly around the circle and got that puppy up to 145 bpm. Just a quick sprint. You never really know how beautiful a muscle the heart is until you can watch it beating on your wrist, every waking minute of every hour. Just an amazing miracle in itself. The things we take for granted.
So, got back late, had time to make dinner after working til 430, so by the time the tandem ride occurred for #30daysofbiking we had pretty perfect light. I wanted to solely use the 100mm at our favorite short spot with some sunset and a little fill flash. Did I say that I am loving the 100mm? Getting braver with some beautiful closely cropped pics. Very happy with this lens! Many of my flash positions coupled with FStop choice need some work though--getting there.
Jen, although she is already very good with an eye for the moment (probably better than me), is getting better with the photo framing. Most of these were taken by her, with a little exposure guidance by me in AV and M mode, but she is getting better everytime she picks up the camera for her turn.
