Day 166- Monday April 26, 2016
Lately I've been leaving the Canon at home for the portability of the point and shoot. I don't have to lug everything into the building and I haven't been taking many pics with the 100mm lately anyway. The sunsets, which Jen and I have waited for multiple times this month have been less than spectacular, if they even happen at all. It appears the clouds roll in right at sundown and, even though we wait for it, we're constantly let down. Bummer. Glad there sunrises to counter this effect. In contrast, I am blessed with these type views every morning--as I get up earlier and take my shower the sky starts to boom the hues of deep purple, to pink, to maroon to sunrise. Thank you Lordy Jesus for the wake up beauty. It really gets me going.
The Nikon is fairly easy to use for a point and shoot, but I don't think I've ever seen a more horrible battery life in any camera I've ever owned. It is atrocious. When my mother gave it to me, she had lost the charger for it, so I was able to find a cheap one with two extra batteries online for about $20. Glad i got the batteries with it or this camera would have been put in a drawer. It works in a pinch though--horrible in low light, but the 4.5-50mm is kinda nice. I use it as my go to over my samsuck, that's for SURE. Too bad I can't have a Fuji XPro 1 land on my lap. Guess that's what the camera fund is for.
