Day 174, Day 175 Tuesday May 3, and Wednesday May 4, 2016
Day 174-Tuesday May 3, 2016
I spent today learning about Adobe Lightroom. Watched about 3 hours of how to videos for importing photos and the basic edits. I learned a lot. This will be a throwback Tuesday to the Nature Walk with Tiffany, Jen and Avery, but I edited this photo to bring out the vivid green hues and to remove some of the noise. Tiffany showed me how to use Lightroom on Sunday and work in it, so I figured I'd watch some videos and see what I could do today. Here is my first pic I edited. It was the one from the trip to 30a on the beach.
I also spent a lot of time going thru old photos using light room and getting rid of multiple pics of the same thing and garbage pics--although I want the memories, don't really want too many memories about being a crappy photographer. No pics today, just editing.
Wednesday May 4, 2016 (May the Fourth Be with You)
Of course, as planned, my buddy who is a HUGE Star Wars geek, had his second son today. They both systematically planned this pregnancy to terminate today with the birth of their second child, Ben (yes, you guessed it--as in Ben Kenobi). Their first son's name is Banner (as in Bruce, of course). Very happy for them both.
Spent lots more time editing and learning the ins and outs of lightroom today. Got to watch about an hour of videos, and was able to create and edit some of the (few) RAW files I took while on the photowalk. Wow--everyone is right. RAW makes a HUGE difference, but it's also a HUGE file. I created this pic today to bring out the Greens in the Chimney Park Grove.
One unfortunate thing I did learn today is to not wait to take pics of wildflowers that are growing all over the place on county roads. I saw the tractors yesterday working the south end of Garcon Point rd, but figured I could get at least another day out of it before taking the pics of ALL those wildflowers in that gorgeous low sunlight. Nope, the tractors took all of them, with the exception of the mailbox flowers. I was really bummed. Self note: If you see the shot, don't wait. Take the photo! You might miss out on some wonderful things. Lesson learned.
