Day 183 - Thursday May 12, 2016 (halfway point)

Day 183 - Thursday May 12, 2016
So today marks the half-way point of my #366project adventure.  What a trip it's been.

Today I NEEDED to get out to the beach with wifey.  A stressful day at work dealing with statistics that admin doesn't seem to know what they want.  After that my sister ended up in the ER with a fever (she's OK now) and just an all in all stressful day.

We took to loading the bikes on the car for a beach trip. The plan was to hope for beautiful skies and sunsets tonight in the humid, yet windy weather.  We got everything we wanted, and maybe a little more.

A Huey Helicopter was coming down the coastline at about 100ft.  Of course as I notice it coming I had just changed lenses to my wide angle and not my 100mm (why does this always happen?).  By the time I was able to dig the 100mm back out of the back, the copter was on us.  We felt the engines and the vibration of this beautiful machine as the USAF Chopper flew by us, with no one around.  It was so close I could see the servicemen hanging out on the rear hatch.  What a sight.

Unfortunately I could only attempt to take quick pics, and unfortunately 2x, I was taking them in A-DEP mode as it flew by.  I did not know that i hit the knob by accident in the flurry of the lens change. Bummer.  Was hoping for a much better shot, but you can only deal with what you're given in a situation like that one.

I was working on taking pics of babbs the whole time tonight. That was my idea.  Get many pics of my beautiful wife when the camera hog kiddo isn't around.  And that's just what we did.  A stellar sunset and hue made for a great half-way point in this journey.  I was happy with the results.
