Day 192 - Saturday May 21, 2016

Day 192 - Saturday May 21, 2016

I follow old camera and photography blogs online.  Every Friday I get the 'recommended reading' in my e-mail. Today, I wanted to see what Mr Money Mustache was all about.  Hypothetically it looked very interesting and I read older blog posts all morning. I'm not one that likes to put his life on hold for retirement because I like to live in the here and now, but it opened my eyes up to a lot.  No, I probably won't be able to put 60 percent of my paycheck into savings, but I could make some pretty serious cuts in our entertainment budget in order to save more.  I am pretty sure I'm in the know and on the right track with saving money, but could use some tweaking.

As much as I hate to say it, the beer budget definitely eats a whole in our incomes.  Maybe I should seriously look into brewing my own.  My neighbors love it, and I have some friends who are some pretty serious brewers.  Seems like a winning combination all around. I'll try some things. I can't hurt!

When Jen got back from picking up the certified paperwork, we decided it was a beach day.  Got to take Ivanka.  She drove wonderfully, and I have a date to get the timing belt fixed on memorial day.  Yes!

It was a beautiful day on the beach.  We met up with our friends out there that we hadn't seen in quite a while, and it was good catching up. I tried to get Avery surfing but the wave were just too choppy and weak.  I did find a piece of driftwood though with moss all over it that I took with the Macro that I thought was cool.  Termed it Vesuvius on Instagram.  Good stuff, Macro--but my idea. Made me happy I took the camera.

Later we met them again at Otis and Emilys house for a mean game of Jenga and some Exploding kittens and a quick game of taboo.  Emily leaves in a week to be gone all summer with her daughter to Washington state.  Otis will be around so I'm pretty sure he'll be in partay mode. Also their buddies Colon and Ashley (their neighbors and beer brewers ) were there and we tried one of Colon's very good Nut Brown ale.
