Day 197 - Thursday May 26, 2016

On Tuesday my mother bitched at me a little bit for being lazy.  She was in a mood, mainly because she was working on the removal of about 80 old VHS cassettes in the computer room.  Guess it's spring cleaning time.  She'd asked me about three weeks ago to dig up two palm trees from my uncle's house--I said I would but STILL haven't gotten around to it.  Maybe I'll do it tomorrow.

Anyway, today Rich brought me a VHS/DVD recorder so I can transfer all our old family movies (that were transferred from 8mm to video tape) from VHS to DVD.  I sat transfixed on the screen with grandparents videos, my parents when they were in their mid 20's, me as a baby, my cousins, etc.  Just great stuff to watch. I still remember the trip I took to Canada and New York Thousand Islands and St Lawrence Seaway with my grandparents and Aunt Jane.  What great memories.

The DVD Burn did well.  My mother should be happy.  Made multiple copies of everything she gave me.  Even was able to burn an analog copy of one of my favorite movies that was never released on DVD to DVD.  Pump up the Volume. Just classic!

So I spent the majority of the evening burning old tapes to DVD while watching "the Money Pit" with the kiddos.  Avery liked it --GT not so much.  So i'm taking a well-deserved off day--It's not like I didn't work with the stuff for five hours!

For the record, here are some old folks dancing.  Can't wait to see what I can do with these old Family Movie DVDS. Hope to send out some cool 8mm to Video to DVD stop frame pics soon. For the record.  These folks are in their late 70's, moving and exercising from 1987.  I can only pray that I'm in that kind of fluid shape when I'm that age, if I can even dare to go to my 70's.
