Day 199 - Saturday May 28, 2016

We booked our tickets for Lucero about a month ago. Had never attended the Merry Widow in Mobile, but I heard it was something like Vinyl in Pensacola.  Jen and I were looking forward, as we always do , to seeing Lucero with our good friends the Farrises and Kirbys.  They were fantastic as always.  We definitely had an interesting night

• Heard that the Kirbys got in an accident on the way out-luckily they were still in Pensacola and in the Volvo--could have turned out much worse. 
• Saw an alleged stab victim sitting outside the bar we went to. Didn't get full details, but she was bleeding pretty badly from her arm.  The paramedics and cops were on the scene. 
• Went to a gay bar--a gay bar, after leaving Pensacola on Memorial day weekend.  What?  Actually, it was the closest place to the Merry Widow that served cheap PBR's. So we went, listened to 70's disco and watch not pretty men dance with one another--it was actually pretty fun.  
• I got a couple of pics from the 14th floor of the Holiday Inn.  Used the Powershot G1, so uploads will have to wait as I don't have my adapter with me at the moment.
• Watched some couple in-fighting like I hadn't seen in a while.  It's easy for some to tie one on easily, but also a different animal when kids nearby at the hotel and the parents have to go home. 
• Saw TJ in his form--he made about 40 friends that night. 
• Learned some other things in reference to my friends and relationships but this blog is no place for that. 
• Got three hours sleep after too many PBR's. 

My favorite pic of the night was exactly as I pictured it.  Of course I had the samsuck as my camera, but I needed this shot.  Lucero was playing "hey darlin, do you gamble", and I noticed this couple two rows up from me, right on the front row just dancing and singing it to one another.  Thought the moment was right and had the cell phone at the ready.  Had Ben singing in the background, the couple dancing with one another, and my buddy Cheryl turning around at precisely the right moment with a smile as to show her enjoyment of the show.  PERFECT shot for a perfect song.  Too bad the camera sucked, but I captured a MOMENT.  I don't get that happening in any of my pics too much, but I was elated about that one.
