Day 221 - Sunday June 19, 2016
Day 221 - Sunday June 19, 2016 (Father's Day)
Spent my day on the beach, doing some deck work, and finally, once the winds died down, paddle board time with wifey. Turned out to be an awesome day. Got some calm seas in the afternoon. The awesome thing about older good, cheap digital cameras is, you can be a little careless with them. If you drop a $5 older 3.34 megapixel camera in the bay and fry it, it's not big deal--chances are, with a little bit of rubbing alcohol, you can actually clean and save the card. However, I didn't want or plan to do that. Took the OLD Canon Powershot G1 out tonight with Jen for some sunset shots and some cypress trees. Unfortunately, the sun blew out a multitude of shots as it hadn't quite set yet. Not even Photoshop could recover the purple glare. No matter. I was able to capture one of my favorites using the wider angle with Jen floating her way to infinity; the sunset as the background with wisping clouds floating around the sun to create an arched look.
Another beautiful thing about the G1 is the ability to shoot RAW. I have to shoot RAW now, for everything! I can't live without it! Hey, I paid almost $1000 for this camera in 2000, to use to take pics of the kiddo after she was born. It was money well invested at the time, and, although pretty slow to shoot by today's standards, The results still turn out pretty damn well. Happy Father's day to me, and of course the time spent at my parents house. Happy Father's Day dad--Love you.
