Day 305 - Tuesday September 12, 2016
Day 305
So after a long talk with my boss last week, she's decided that I can do one work-from-home day per week. After realizing that we had tread showing on the outside of one of our michelins, I decided to make today that day. Took the van to Vannoy's this morning to get two new front tires. UGH. As much as I love that minivan, I despise middle of paycheck costs of upkeep. Oh well-guess what--she needs brakes too, but I knew that--just been putting it off for the past 3 months. So, almost $300 later, I was able to order my brakes and rotors from Amazon and get two new front tires on the minivan. Not too shabby-i'm just glad that brakes aren't hard to replace, just a little annoying.
Anyway, a short story made long--Vannoy's is only about a half mile from my house. I love the guys there, they take care of me with straight talk, even after I backed into one of their cars and destroyed the door. Apparently a 1998 Lincoln mark VIII is hard to find parts for. It's been about 8 months and the damn thing still isn't fixed. Maybe they just took the money and ran--anyway, making this even longer, I packed the townie up on the minivan and rode my bike home. Later in the day, I decided I'd walk up to Vannoy's to pick up the minivan (I need my steps and all) and I came across the most beautiful passion flowers (which later I found out are possibly invasive) and just knew a macro pic of that would be awesome and that I'd get back to that later.
Later came, and I still needed my steps, so I walked back with Jen to grab a couple of photos. Jen's idea was to take a pic of the one hanging out past the hedges at the abandoned burger king and get it from a side view. I have done this before with mushrooms and peach blossoms and crepe myrtles and they turned out great too. I knew I married that gal for something. F25, some off camera flash, 100mm macro and huoala. I loved it so much after edits, I made it my entry into the 500px sound of light challenge. I was very proud of this photo. Also made it my desktop at work. Good day for fiddling with the macro, made better by working from home. Even got all my Goal Steps in!
