Day 315

Tonight Jen and I decided to check out the Milky Way, as I read that the end of viewing season is near.  I checked my TPE app on my phone to see the moon and found that the moon was actually up during daytime hours, so it would be a dark night.

We loaded up the tandem and headed toward Navarre, equipped with my 24mm 2.8 and my 10-18 4.5 lenses.  The weather was starting to cool off and the darkness was excellent.  I was excited that I'd be able to attempt some long exposures to pull it off.  I liked the results, but I'm not sure my camera has the HP to get things done.  I was switching lenses all night to try and capture a great image.  A little lighting on the beach helped things, but this is an effort I'll need to work harder on.  Later in the week I noticed some great images in the Wide Angle Photo Club page to show the pickens battery with the milky way behind it.  He said it was F2 at 30 sec  --  Might have to test that theory down the road. These weren't disasters, but they weren't my favorite, either.  My friend said there are ways to remove noise in photoshop, so I'll be putting a bug in his ear for that info too.
