Day 328 - Thursday October 6, 2016
Day 328
We have a nasty hurricane heading up the east coast. It's supposed to smack Vero Beach tonight. We usually get hit every 10-14 years. We're lucky this year, but this nasty Matthew might just turn around, in a circle, then come across and work on us...what a mess.
I got to do a work from home day today. Also found a somewhat very good deal on CL for antique cameras, an old minolta, olympus, and yashica Mat. I would have liked to pull the trigger, but am saving for bigger things. I sent the CL listing to my buddy Scott, who promptly headed to Fairhope to pick up the great deal. I'm sure he'll make more than the $100 the guy wanted for the lot. In that lot is an antique Olympus PEN EE2--made between 1950's and 60s. I have had an interest in film again lately and decided to ask Rusty if he wanted to get rid of that camera for cheap since I found it for him and helped him with the info. I plan on getting it soon, for the cost of $20. Worth it to me. I just hope it takes 35mm film. Just looks cool. I also plan on getting my AE1 back from him and start shooting with it, but I really want to run some film through that old camera. Should be a fun little project.
I also droppped my film off--the same film that has been sitting in my Minolta X700, inside my Kia, all summer--to walmart. Maybe they'll turn out, but I'm in no rush to get them back. I also moved the final roll of 35mm fujifilm to my little point and shoot canon to play around with. I plan on getting up with Scott to find out more about the BW film purchase along with possibly learning darkroom techniques. Hope to have fun with that.
My dad came over today with two T-bones for Abby, steak still attached for the most part. Jen took advantage of the opportunity and got some pics of our pets today, and later I took a pic in the dark using a rembrant style flash. Our dog is really happy right now!
