Day 360 - Monday November 7, 2016

Day 360

Unfortunately Avery's friend couldn't join us at the photo shoot today, so Jen and I did our own thing while Scott shot Avery at the driftwood spot.

I broke out my first roll of Ilford HP5 and shot a few pics of Jen. The sky was less than spectacular, a cloudy gray, so that works for BW film.  I found a few spots for Jen portraiture, and plan on taking some of Avery tomorrow.  Saw some golden rod, with plenty of bees, so Jen broke out the Macro and was able to get a couple of decent close ups of bees on the flowers.

I also learned about noise removal and decided to use 1600ISO tonight.  The one of Jen standing by the water was edited in Lightroom with luminance and color noise reduction.  I didn't know it was that easy to remove!  Guess i need to learn some more about that for future shooting in dark conditions to get the image looking better!  Will study soon.

Also during my short time at work today after i got everything done, was to learn a little bit about dark room practices.  It doesn't look that hard, and with a decent wash and dark room, I'd be MUCH cheaper than taking everything to Walgreens.  I'm afraid I'm going to get sticker shock looking at home much a 36 exp film roll will cost.

All pics 100mm--macro of bees by Jen.
