November 15, 2016 - new addition-Canon EOS M

Today I saw the ad on craigslist.
A Canon EOS M for sale, came with case, 22mm F2 pancake, and a fotodiox lens adapter.
I asked about the price as I've wanted a mirrorless camera for a while due to wanting to do more urban photography and be able to carry a smaller camera with same functionality around as my huge t3i.

We met in a public place tonight around 8:30, downtown.  Guy with his girlfriend (who's currently in school taking photo classes), met me.  When I asked why he was getting rid of it, he stated because he uses his phone for all his pics.  I love millenials :)  So, the shutter count is at 5847. NOt too bad for a 4 year old camera.  I read up on the reviews and what this thing can do.  It was in meticulous shape-I checked the lens, 'mirror', display, shutter count to make sure he wasn't lying, and $220 later, we wished each other well and went on our merry way.

I wanted to go on a test run, so i stopped by the docks and took a few pics with my memory card I brought with me.  A little less than stellar, but I had just gotten the thing.  Lots of camera shake, and the iso was set at 3200 - 6400 for the dark conditions.  Lots of noise to remove from the pics when I got home, but I liked what I saw.  I took a few with the wide angle on there, and sure enough, it worked great--auto focus and everything.  Not going to post test pics here, but definitely satisfied with my new purchase in the first hours.  The next three hours were spent researching the settings and finding manuals on how and the best ways to utilize it and use it.  It is SOOOO much smaller.  I can't wait to take it out with me to Gallery night on Friday.  It'll be like it's not even there--and, bonus, my neck muscles won't be killing me :)

Here is a difference in size. I plan on going on a better test run tomorrow night at the NLO for some sunset pics.
