January 6, 2017 (Christmas week 2016)

December 23, 2016
So my year of pictures has been complete for approximately two months now, and, to summarize, it has been a great year.

There have been some bumps along the road in the past couple of weeks though with my coming-of-age teen that I won't talk about here--I can only admit that I'm glad these pressures have waited until she is almost 17 years old.

Christmas was good, yadda yadda yadda--of note--after a local Christmas party two days before Christmas, I went to take pics of wifey in the shed--this idea was off the cuff, as many fun ones can be.  I went to use one of those cool 'turn christmas lights into snowflakes' glasses on the camera and wrap Jen in them in the garage.  Alas, as I was walking with my lenses in one hand and beer in the other, I tripped over some unseen items we had stored on the porch, and all 200+ lbs of me landed on my left elbow.  Hurt like hell. After multiple profanities and the aid of the wifey, I stood up, removed what was impeding the walkway, and, as I waited for my newly opened elbow to stop spurting blood and clot, went out and shot a couple of pics of Jen anyway.  The lenses turned out to be OK, although I haven't shot much since the fall with them.  Any pics with Jen in them turns out ok to me, even if I really couldn't hold the camera overly steady.

So, needless to say I had a very sore night--wondered if I should go tot he ER, etc (I didn't) and realized I wouldn't be shucking oysters this Christmas vacation. So much for that tradition :)

After I finally clotted, I was able to take a couple of ibuprofen, then decided to go to bed, albeit with a little bit of shock shakes :)  Even as I write about this two weeks later, my elbow is still sore to the touch.  I'm hoping a  relocated that nerve that gives me shoulder pain on a good note.  Surprisingly, knock on wood, I have not felt hardly any pain in my left shoulder since my fall.

The usual--visiting with in-laws on wifey's side, present opening, and a very sore trip to joe Patti's for shrimp.

December 25, 2016--Merry Christmas
I like keeping these pics to myself and to my family.
