Summer 2018
Summer 2018
This summer has been a perfect one for paddle boarding. Last year every time we attempted to go, the water would be too choppy, or wind would be horrible, etc. This year conditions were optimal almost every time we went.
When we go, I usually take an old digital camera. I bought newer batteries online to charge for my Canon Powershot G1 and usually take that one, although bulky, if I were to drop it, I'd get over it pretty quickly. I also have an older Samsung point and shoot elph type camera that I found at a local thrift last year for $4.99. I'll also sometimes bring a compact along, but with a hopeful sale of my Stylus Epic 2.8 in the not too distant future, I try to leave that one at home. Any black and white film pics on here were probably taken with the nikon zoom point and shoot.

Also, ever since getting the Fuji (and the EosM for that matter) I've been shooting my vintage glass digitally using adapters. Talk about fun and keeping photography on the 'cheap' for beautiful glass! Mostly I'm shooting the 50mm f1.4's for portraits and basically anything else. I recently acquired that beloved Rokkor 58mm F1.4 and now shoot it on the Fuji. Here is the Fuji Xt1 with my only Zuiko lens that isn't attached using the mount adapter for Olympus.
After returning from the Keys, we spent a lot of time in and on the water. It's been a hot summer, but appears to be a hotter fall--I think September was warmer than August, which seems to be a regular happening of late, along with a daily thunderstorm--but with the daily thunderstorm come cloud formations that are also incredible. This was my favorite pic this summer, not too long after posting this photo above. The rain clouds were diminishing, the moon was out, and the rainbow formed right between them. Right place at the right time.

And, in a real quick wrap-up, that was our summer--once again, gone in a wink.
